How to Set Up Tawkit on Your Mosque Screen

Tawkit is available in 3 versions. Choose the one that fits your device:

• HTML/ZIP version — for any device with a browser (Windows, Linux, Mac, Raspberry Pi)
• Online version — no installation needed, use directly from any browser with an account
• Android version — APK for Android phones, tablets, and TV boxes

Version 1 — HTML/ZIP

This version works on any system that has a web browser.

Recommended for users comfortable with basic file management.

Installation Steps

• Go to the Downloads section and download the ZIP file:

• Unzip the package on your device

• Place the main folder in a location of your choice:

Windows: c:/tawkit/
Linux/Mac: /home/user/tawkit/

• Open the index.html file from the root folder

• Your default browser will launch the app automatically

• The app displays in vertical or horizontal mode depending on your screen

Installing HTML Version on Android

Android does not allow opening HTML files directly in a browser the normal way.

Follow the step-by-step PDF guide for your Android version:

Version 2 — Online Version

The online version requires no installation.

It works on any device with a browser — phones, tablets, TVs, and computers.

How to Get Started

• Create a free account in the Downloads section:

• After registration you will receive a unique URL for your mosque:

• Open this URL on your mosque TV screen and on worshippers phones

• Manage your mosque content from the admin page:

• Note: The online version does not yet include all features of the HTML and Android versions. A full-featured online version is planned for a future update, In shaa Allah.

Version 3 — Android APK

The Android version is a standalone offline APK.

It is not available on the Google Play Store.

It works on Android phones, tablets, and Android TV boxes.

Available APK Files

Download the correct version for your device:

Downloads

• Tawkit Android 5 to 14 — arm-v7 — for older devices
• Tawkit Android 15 and 16 — arm64 — for newer devices

• Note: db numbers like db080 or db081 indicate the city database version. When new cities are added the db number increases. The app version stays the same.
• Important: Always uninstall the old version before installing a new one.

Installing on Android Phone or Tablet

• Download the APK from the Downloads section:

• Open your Downloads folder and tap the APK file

• Follow the on-screen instructions to install

• Launch Tawkit from your app list

Installing on Android TV Box

Installing on Android TV boxes can be difficult on newer devices.

Recommended steps:

• Download the APK on your computer or phone

• Copy the APK to a USB stick

• Plug the USB into your TV box

• Use the device file manager to find the APK and launch it to install

• Recommended Android version for TV boxes: Android 9 to 12
