Which device to choose for a mosque screen

Any TV with HDMI plus an Android TV box (Android 9 to 13, 2 GB RAM, with a real-time clock). A smart TV with Android needs no box.
Tawkit runs on almost any screen, but a mosque screen works every day for years, so a good choice now saves trouble later.
The simple setup
- A TV with an HDMI port, any size and brand.
- A small Android TV box plugged into the TV. If your TV is already an Android smart TV, you don't need a box: install Tawkit on the TV itself.
What to look for in the box
- Android 9 to 13. These versions give the best results. Newer versions can block automatic start, make USB file access harder and conflict with some app features.
- At least 2 GB of RAM, so slides and scrolling messages stay smooth.
- A real-time clock (RTC). With an RTC, the box keeps the correct time during power cuts. Without it, the clock can be wrong after a cut, and the prayer times shown would be wrong too.
What to avoid
- Amazon Fire TV is not recommended: it doesn't let apps start automatically, so someone must open Tawkit by hand after every restart.
Internet
The mosque doesn't need internet all the time. Connect only for short tasks: the weather (about once a week, one minute), importing or exporting settings (3 to 5 minutes) and correcting the clock. Then disconnect.
Need advice?
The app is free, devices are not: the author doesn't sell devices. A volunteer in your country can advise you on a good box, and some people offer ready devices.
