Which version should I use?
For a mosque screen used every day: the Android APK on a TV box, or the ZIP on a computer. To start at once with nothing to install: the web version, offline.tawkit.net.
Can I use Tawkit without installing anything?
Yes: open offline.tawkit.net in any browser. Internet is needed only the first time.
Does it need the internet?
No, the prayer times are inside the app. A short connection helps only for the weather, importing settings and correcting the clock.
Which APK file do I need?
Android 5 to 14: the main APK. Android 15 and 16: the ARM64 APK. If it doesn't open, try the old version 9.61.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes, with the web version: open offline.tawkit.net in Safari and add it to the home screen.
Which device should I buy for the mosque?
A TV with HDMI and an Android TV box with Android 9 to 13, 2 GB RAM and a real-time clock. Avoid Amazon Fire TV.
How do I change the prayer times?
Export the settings, edit the times with Notepad, upload the file to settings.tawkit.net to get an ID, then use Import by ID in the mosque app.
My city is not in the list. What can I do?
Choose a nearby city and import your own times with a settings file, or ask the author to add your city.
The time is wrong after a power cut.
The device has no real-time clock. Turn on Wi-Fi briefly, open Tawkit, then turn Wi-Fi off.
How do I adjust for summer time?
Open Menu → Adjust adhan and iqama times and apply the shift.
How do I update without losing my settings?
Export your settings, uninstall the old version, install the new one, then import your settings.
How do I change the language?
Open Menu ☰ and choose the language code. The app restarts by itself.
Can I sell devices with Tawkit installed?
Yes, with a profit of at most 50% of the device price, if you tell buyers the app is free and give free support.
