Install Tawkit on an Android TV box or smart TV

Download the APK, copy it to the box with a USB stick (or download it on the box), open it with the file manager, allow the install, then choose your city.

What you need

• The TV box (or Android smart TV), connected to the TV.
• The right APK file.
• A USB stick, or internet on the box for a few minutes.

Steps

1. Get the APK on the box. Either open the download page in the box's browser and download it, or download it on a computer and copy it to a USB stick, then plug the stick into the box.
2. Open the APK with the box's file manager.
3. Allow the install. Android asks to allow apps from this source: say yes.
4. Uninstall the old version first if Tawkit is already installed.
5. Open Tawkit, choose your country and city.
6. Adjust the iqama times for your mosque: see set iqama times.
7. Start on boot: make Tawkit open when the box starts. See auto-start.

Prepare the settings at home

You can prepare all the settings on your computer with the web version, then send them to the box in one step with an ID: copy settings.
